Learning Management System is Rising in Asia

The Learning Management System (LMS), now forms the bedrock of the modern eLearning experience, serving as the driving force behind the delivery and tracking of online training courses. Installed by companies, industries, and universities alike, LMS is designed specifically to ease the workload of the business leader, corporate or college, letting them reap the benefits of flexible and adaptable eLearning opportunities.

Ruangguru, for example, is an Indonesian tech-enabled education provider. Its main product, RuangKelas, is a freemium LMS that helps students to prepare for exams using content tailored to the national curriculum, and helps teachers/tutors to crowdsource and distribute educational content to students. More than 15,000 students use Ruangguru, and the company manages 300,000 teachers and works closely with the Indonesian government, according to a statement of the company.

Besides, many companies are acknowledging and adopting LMS trends. Corporate LMS usually include registration and management of classroom instruction as well as eLearning management and delivery. Some corporate LMS may include regulatory compliance, competency, performance, human capital and talent management which link closely to Human Resources (HR) functions.

Inchone, for instance, is a Singaporean provider of online learning and training systems. One of the products called i3Corporate is a comprehensive web-based LMS that acts as a corporate training solution for other companies, and is designed to centralize training and data storage.

Although the LMS market in Asia is still at the initial stage, the market potential is huge. The market size in Asia is expected to generate USD 2,884 million by 2022, reported by Allied Market Research. Organisations use LMS, corporate LMS in particular, to streamline processes, tools, and systems to improve learning and productivity. Thus, in addition to education, there is growing adoption among various sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and many other industries, for both internal and external training and adaptation.
