Comms8 Joins Hands With UN’s Weather Kids Campaign For Climate Change

In a unique partnership, global marketing agency Comms8 has joined forces with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for its Weather Kids campaign. This initiative, created alongside the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and The Weather Channel, features children delivering special weather forecasts – but not for today’s weather.

Instead, these young meteorologists are presenting a glimpse into what the weather might be like in 2050, based on projections using data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and UNDP’s Climate Horizons data platform.

The campaign aims to educate viewers about the potential impacts of climate change and inspire urgent action to secure a better future for generations to come.

The Weather Kids forecasts have aired on news channels in over 80 countries and have garnered support by global celebrities and UNDP Goodwill Ambassadors, including Oscar-winning Malaysian actor Michelle Yeoh, American actor Connie Britton and Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

The Weather Kids campaign is part of UNDP’s efforts to encourage public conversation and inspire climate action ahead of the COP30 climate negotiations scheduled for Brazil in 2025. COP30 will be a critical moment to get the world on track to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. These plans – known as ‘Nationally Determined Contributions’ (NDCs) - are at the very heart of the global fight against climate change.
