Empowerment & Innovation Women Leadership: Comms8's Experience at the Grow London Event

The comms8 team attended the Grow London: Female Founders & Leaders – Let’s Talk Raising! event last month. Hosted by London & Partners, the event celebrated the achievements of female leaders, as well as diving deeply into intricate challenges they navigate in their quest for a more balanced and fair future. Amidst this backdrop of resilience and empowerment, we deeply resonated with the stories of strength and tenacity.

The event kicked off with a panel discussion about entrepreneurship, gender equality, and diversity in the business world. The panellists include Deepti Patankar, senior associate Taylor Wessing and former Founder at Hostmaker; Lisa Lambie, Managing Partner and chief Impact Officer at Maroon; and Ash Arora, Partner at LocalGlobe.

Following the insightful discussion, Laura Cirtron, London & Partner CEO had a conversation with Jess Deluca, the founder of Cult Beauty. Jess shared her journey of founding Cult Beauty to address a personal pain point in the cosmetics industry. She emphasized the importance of innovative marketing strategies and recounted her successful exit from the business. Her advice to fellow female entrepreneurs was clear: don't be afraid to think outside the box and carve your unique path to success.

The event's keynote speaker, Anita Asante, a former player for the English National team, delivered an inspiring speech. She shared her journey from being a young girl passionate about football to breaking through barriers and achieving success both in the UK and the US. Anita's story serves as a testament to personal resilience and determination, highlighting her contributions to gender equality both on and off the football field.

Besides these enlightening discussions and sharing, the comms8 team also was excited to connect and exchange experiences with many women leaders and industry professionals regarding investment and entrepreneurship. We believe this kind of connection will contribute to meaningful conversations and positive changes in the future.

At Comms8, we champion women’s leadership and the power of diversity and innovation. It was an honour for the Comms8 team to be part of the Grow London event, and we are excited to carry the lessons and insights we gained into our work, always striving for a more equitable and innovative marketing landscape.
