We are excited to announce that Comms8 and ICCO’s collaboration with the UNDP Weather Kids campaign has been shortlisted for the prestigious Cannes Lions Award in the Sustainable Development Goals category. This recognition highlights our efforts to raise awareness about climate change and its impact on children.

About the Weather Kids Campaign

In collaboration with the World Meteorological Organisation and The Weather Channel, the Weather Kids Campaign features children presenting future weather forecasts for 2050 based on climate projections. The goal is to educate and encourage action against climate change while driving public effort to be ahead of the COP30 climate negotiations for Brazil in 2025.

Comms8 played a crucial role by leveraging influencer and media outreach in the UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and mainland China. We identified and outreach to key influencers and media outlets to amplify the campaign’s message, inspiring urgent climate action that aligns with environmental responsibility, optimising the campaign’s impact.

Comms8 initiated a total of 100 environmental advocates and influencers bridging cultures across the UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and mainland China from Instagram and Weibo respectively. This includes media, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and key opinion consumers (KOCs) to bring the Weather Kids campaign to the forefront of social media and news.

Both the Weather Kids Campaign and our effort have successfully enhanced the reach of the crucial message on climate change, prompting communities and individuals to act on sustainable practices.
